What does this mean?
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Tonight's event was the final one in this year's Spring Series, thank you all for joining us on a new area at School Knott, we hope you all enjoyed the great courses and weren't distracted by the views from the open fell too much !
Well done and many thanks to our Juniors Sam and Jamie for planning tonight and also thanks to Charlie as Safety and first aid, Sandy as Series Co-ordinator, Rebekah for first aid cover, the control collectors Sam, Jamie, Ellie, Michael and Amelia and the SI Team of Ali, Mike and Sandy.

Directions / Parking
Parking on streets around Queen's park in Windermere. This will be less than a km walk to the download/registration.
Limethwaite road is recommended for the best parking
There are also public carparks in Windermere center which there is a fee for parking.
Adjacent to these carparks there are public toilets also for a small fee. (Windermere library)
This is generally free parking, make sure to double check before you leave.
Please be considerate to residents when you park - ensure you don’t park across, or opposite peoples drive.

Map / Terrain
A new map from Martin Bagness, and a completely new area.
School Knott, community woodland and the adjoining Plantation near Windermere, offers varied terrain including open fell, mixed woodland, and rocky outcrops. The landscape features grassy slopes, scattered boulders, patches of dense trees, and small crags. Intricate and detailed across large areas of the map. Runnability is great.

Please wear a whistle and full leg covering.

Online entries are available via SiEntries here. Online entry will close at 23:59 on Sunday 25th May, some entry on the day will also be available.
Fees for online entry:
- £6 for seniors who are members of either British Orienteering (BO) or LOC
- £7 for seniors who are not members of either BO or LOC
- £4 for juniors and full-time students
- Free for LOC Juniors

Registration and Start times
Registration opens at 17:00.
Starts from 17:30 until 18:30.
Courses close at 19:30, controls will be collected
SI cards (dibbers) and compasses will be available for those who do not have them.
Dog restrictions
Dogs to be kept under close control due to nesting birds
