What does this mean?
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Overview
A series of four events in South Lakeland parkland. At each event expect a long and short course with a winning time of around 30 minutes, and a novice course for those newer to orienteering and children. |

Pre-event Details
Map / Terrain
Eccle Riggs a former stately home now operating as a leisure club. The grounds are a golf course. Expect fast running over a grassy hill, with some woodland and rougher areas. Full leg cover isn't compulsory. If the weather is bad you may be required to carry a hooded waterproof jacket, and potentially hat, gloves and waterproof trousers. You should bring these to the event and notices will be displayed in the car park and at the start. You must carry a whistle. |
Course Information
Long: 4.3km. 29 controls. Two-part map at 1:4000 (A5, double sided).
Short: 2.8km. 25 controls. Map at 1:3000 (A4).
Novice: 1.85km. 20 controls. Map 1:3000 (A4).
Entry Details
Online entries are open at SiEntries. Online entry will close at 23:59 on Sunday 18th August, some entry on the day will also be available.
Fees for online entry:
- £6 for seniors who are members of either British Orienteering (BO) or LOC
- £7 for seniors who are not members of either BO or LOC
- £4 for juniors and full-time students
- Free for LOC Juniors
Fees for entry on the day:
- £7 for seniors who are members of either BO or LOC
- £8 for seniors who are not members of either BO or LOC
- £4 for juniors and full-time students
- Free for LOC Juniors

Registration and Start times
Starts 17.30 until 18.30 Registration for entry on the day will open at 17.00, and SI cards (dibbers) and compasses will be available for those who do not have them. |
Facilities
The start is less than 5 minutes walk from parking. The finish is a similar distance.
