What does this mean?
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

What a beautiful sunny evening for the first event in this year's Park Series alongside the shores of Coniston this evening ! We hope you enjoyed both the cone and maze activities on offer as well as the regular courses on a newly mapped area.
Many thanks to the Water Park for allowing us to use the area and to all those volunteers who helped tonight, particularly James for planning, Nick for controlling, Matt as Series Co-ordinator, Kath, Gav and Louise for the additional activities and newcomer welcome, the parking team of Gill, Clare, Angie and Nigel, the control collectors Amelia, Quinn, James and Nick and the SI Team of Ali, Sandy & Charlotte.

Pre-event Details
Map / Terrain
Water Park outdoors centre is on the shore of Coniston Water and is the estate of a former mansion. Owned and operated by the Eric Wright Trust. There is runnable woodland, a grassy meadow and possibly even an island (water level dependent!). New area to LOC events. Previously used for school training and for Water Park activities.
Toilets available. Keep off all climbing and adventure play equipment.
1:2000 ISSprOM 2019-2 with 5 m contours - surveyed and drawn February 2022 by Graham Capper, with updates in 2023.
Course Information
2x sprint races with estimated winning time 12 minutes at each event, and a novice course aimed at newcomers and younger children.
All areas a traffic free and under 16s may run the sprint courses.
Entry Details
Entries are open online via SI Entries here, online entry will close at 23:59 on Sun 13th August, some entry on the day will also be available.
Entry Fees:
£6 M/W21+
£4 M/W20- and full-time students
Entries free for LOC junior members, £4 for non-LOC juniors
If entering on the day, the correct change would be much appreciated please.
A family group intending to go round this course together should just enter once. Please fill in the box for details of others in your group. You will just use one SI Card (dibber) between you but you can buy extra maps using the “extras” on SI Entries for £1.
Registration and Start times
Starts from 17:30 to 18:30. Courses close at 19:00.
Please start early if you think you will take over 30 minutes per course.
