Galoppen

Regional level event

What does this mean?

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Report

It was rather windy this morning and a tad chilly on the fell, but weren't we lucky the rain mostly held enough for the latest Cumbrian Galoppen event this morning ? From comments heard at download, it sounds like you all enjoyed your courses today, despite the long walk into the area.

As always there is a very long list of volunteer helpers from LOC who made the event possible today - those on car parking, starts, the finish, first aiders, whistle checkers, control collectors, the SI Team - thank you to all of you ! Thank you also to Iain for planning, Paul for controlling and Gill and Sandy for organising today. Also we must thank our friends at WAROC and the Lowther Estate for allowing us to use the area and the Grasmere Sports Field Committee for allowing us to use their grounds for parking and assembly.

Lost Property - a buff was handed in to download, found in a bog, please contact us if it's yours !
