Report
Despite the wet weather today, it wasn't cold in the Langdale Valley for the latest Cumbrian Galoppen event on Pike O Blisco, it was one of those days where starting earlier meant you did avoid the worst of the weather ! Thank you for joining us and we hope you enjoyed the fantastic courses and lovely views - sadly the cloud level had dropped by the time the control collectors went out!
Thank you to everyone from LOC involved with today's event in any way, particularly to Anne for planning, Richard T for controlling and Louise for organising.

Starts from 10.30am – 12.30pm
The start is around 2km and 400m climb above the assembly area/parking. You will need to allow plenty of time for the walk to the start. The finish is about 250m lower than the start.
The area is open fell with a wealth of contour and rock detail. It will be challenging in good weather and extremely difficult if the cloud is down. Looking at your compass will be essential.
Although we have planned a Very Short Green course, you need to consider both the climb to the start and the descending during the final part to reach the finish. If you have knee trouble then this might not be the event for you!
We have also planned a Light Green course on Pike O’Blisco. This will be challenging and competitors need to be able to recognise feature like linear marshes and ditches, as well as strong contour features – long spurs and re-entrants.
The earliest starters on Brown and Blue, a few of the furthest controls may not be "awake" so they may need to manually punch them.
DOWNLOAD All competitors are required to download event if you have not fully completed your course.
