Report

Thanks to all the runners who took part tonight in the LOC North West Night League event, and we hope that you enjoyed it.

The area was physically and technically challenging and the planning by Matt Rooke was excellent. Iain Smith-Ward organised the event.

The results and splits are here, please contact us at 'loc_si@btinternet.com' if you have any comments or queries on the results. Dick and Dave supplied the results support.

Our next night event will be on the 26th January at Stony Hazel, the details are on the LOC website event list.

Overview

This is a plateau-like area with steep slopes to the south and east, some forested, some rough open. It all contains intricate contour detail with many crags, especially on the steeper slopes.

The northern part of the area must only be accessed using the marked crossing points. One is a gate. The others are gaps in the wall marked with red/white tape. There is a ruined barbed wire fence running along the wall and it will be covered over with carpet at these locations. The wall is over-printed in purple and must not be crossed even if you find an apparently suitable gap - it is dangerous and will threaten future use of that part of the area. Only Blue and Green visit this section of the woodland.
