Overview

The area is made up of intricate sand dunes with salt flats.

There has been some recent excavation work in removing gorse resulting in some vehicle tracks & there are also numerous 'dog walking' tracks. These have not been mapped apart from a few to aid navigation on the Orange course.

There is a linear fence which runs parallel to the beach. There are a few marked crossing points but the fence can be crossed at any point along its length. However there is a barbed wire strand along the top so care should be taken

The main track [which is marked on the map] is used by the Orange & Yellow courses en route to the finish. It is used by occasional cars so please be aware.

There are cattle grazing in the competition area. They are docile but can be inquisitive. There are also a couple of gates which MUST be closed after use.

Do not rely on the gorse for navigation.

There is a naturist site at the north end of the area. The residents have been informed of our event & will be suitably clothed. Only the Long course will enter the area & the controls will be positioned to avoid the sensitive areas.
