What does this mean?

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Parking at Birks Lane/Summersty Bank Gt Tower

Access from the A592 between Windermere & Newby Bridge signposted Scout Adventures

2nd Entrance coming up from the A592, follow signs for Orienteering. Parking will be roadside so please be mindful of pedestrians and children on the road.

Score 23 controls, 45 minute limit. Visit as many controls as possible in any order within 45 minutes.

Entry Details

Entries via SI entries now open, EOD available at Registration. 

£2 per entry, LOC juniors free.

Registration and Start times

Please note that these times are 2 hours later than previously shown.

Registration from 1pm for entry on the day. 

SI cards (dibbers) and compasses will be available at Registration for those who do not have their own.

Start times are from 1.30pm - 2.45pm.

Courses will close at 3:30pm.

You should make your way to the finish by 3:30pm even if you have not completed your course.

Dog restrictions

Do dogs are permitted at Great Tower.
