What does this mean?
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Scale 1:5000 and 5m contours.
The map will be size A4 and printed on waterproof paper.
Full leg cover compulsory.
Woodland. Stony Hazel is stony underfoot, and the ground is generally wet and slippy. There
is a path network but some paths are indistinct and camouflaged by leaves. Some brambles to
make leg cover feel worthwhile.
You must carry a whistle

Course closing time 13.30pm
Score Course – Odds and Evens with a specified ‘changeover ’ control. 60 minutes allowed
(take a watch!). Score 10 points per control. 10 points penalty per minute. At the start you
decide whether to start with odd numbered controls or even numbered. After visiting as many
of those as you wish, punch at the changeover control and change to the other. It won’t be
worth being late.

Yellow 1.3 km, 7 controls

Online entries are open at SiEntries. Online entry will close at 23:59 on Friday 27th December, some entry on the day will also be available.
Fees for online entry:
- £6 for seniors who are members of either British Orienteering (BO) or LOC
- £7 for seniors who are not members of either BO or LOC
- £4 for juniors and full-time students
- Free for LOC Juniors

Courses close 13.30
Registration for the Orange and Yellow course, which are particularly aimed at families,
juniors and novice runners, will be by entry on the day (EOD), or by SI entries, opening at
10.00, and SI cards (dibbers) and compasses will be available for those who do not have
them.
