What does this mean?

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Overview

On Saturday 1st November there is a coaching day supported by the Orienteering Foundation at Black Beck near Newby Bridge, right in our back garden in the South Lakes! It is open to club groups from around the country (as well as individuals whose club might not be taking a group, coached by Derek). Duncan will be leading a group for LOC, assisted in the coaching by Carol McNeil. The coaching is aimed at TD4/5 which means light green standard or higher. Both adults and juniors are welcome.

Sign up for the LOC group by Saturday 11th October. Duncan will get in touch in due course with instructions for paying the £7/person. 

You can also make a weekend of it and put your newly honed skills into practice at the LOC event the day after on Sunday 2nd November at Wansfell and Skelghyll.
