What does this mean?

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Overview

Coaching session on Saturday 22nd March 1.30 - 3.30 (note new time) will be held at Stockbird Head, Bouth. Cost - £6 for senior LOC & SROC members. LOC Juniors free. Non LOC/SROC £10 Juniors £5. (Pay on the day)

Technical coaching (Green, Blue & Brown standard) - keeping map contact using contours, plus route choice using contours/shape of the land

Yellow/Orange/families - Contours - what are they and why are they useful for orienteers. Looking at contour shapes. What is a re-entrant? A depression? Spur - features used in orienteering.
