Congrats to Charlie - World Masters Bike Orienteering Champion !
LOC member Charlie Somers Cocks recently travelled to Germany to take part in the Masters World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships and did rather well as she explains.
One of the toughest Masters World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships. October in Germany in areas at around 1,000m was always likely to be a bit cooler but it ended up being incredibly wet and the temperatures were never above 5° when racing. The wettest coldest day was up high in an exposed ski area with near gale force winds. Check out the “mud” picture! Today was the first day we saw views and sun at times. A very tough week where all finishers were winners. Some brilliant courses. My last year as a W55 so happy to come away with a medal in every race together with the overall World Masters Series. Next year W60!
