Come and Try It Days at Fell FootMon 14th and Weds 16th Feb

Last updated: Tue 26 Apr 2022

During the half term holiday (14th – 18th Feb) on Monday 14th and Wednesday 16th from 1000 - 1200 and 1300 - 1500 come to Fell Foot Park near Newby Bridge with family and friends and have a go at some orienteering on what we call a CATI day (come and try it). Remember those people who have said they have always wanted to try it?

It is totally free (apart from parking for non NT members) – all you need is a smart phone with the ‘MapRun 6’ app on it – or download it when you get there. If you can, please do load the event at home:

In the app - click select event and go to UK/cumbria/south/NT and pick score course.

When you are at Fell Foot you can then collect a paper/real map from the Active Base, work out a good route to find as many controls as you want then go to the marked/signed start – the timing on your phone app will start and beep every time you arrive at a control site. When you finish the app tell you how may control’s you have found – up to 20 in any order.

Pleased note - this score course is similar to that used previously in MapRun at Fell Foot.

There will be members of LOC there to help you if you need it. For a quick guide on how to use map run go to – https://maprunners.weebly.com?quick-guide.html

Look out for the red and white Orienteering kites/flags by the Active Base and we’ll see you there ….
