Passing of Christine Isherwood
Following Christine's funeral on Friday 11th August Sheila Hobson provided the following obituary.
As many of you now know Christine Isherwood sadly passed away peacefully at home on Saturday 5th August. She and Mike joined LOC in the 80’s when Isabel and Catherine took up orienteering, followed by Patrick several years later. She was a keen orienteer and has been a stalwart of the club since that time. She will also be remembered for her meticulous planning of interesting string courses with beautifully drawn maps which will now be collectors’ items.
Away from orienteering she was a very talented lady. A fantastic artist, expert botanist and ornithologist, a wonderful singer and she had climbed the majority of the Munros - and a fact not many may know – she had a Cambridge Blue for rowing.
She was also one of the nicest, kindest, most patient people you could wish to meet. She will be missed greatly and our sympathies go to all her family.
