JOIN LOC and British Orienteering ONLINE HERE
This takes you to the British Orienteering website to complete the online form. Select “LOC” from the club drop down, select your membership category (senior, young adult 21-25, junior 20- or family), and proceed to fill in your details.
HOW MUCH DOES MEMBERSHIP COST?
This applies to newcomers who have completed a free trial year with LOC, and existing membership annual renewals. The membership fee includes membership of LOC and British Orienteering.
| Joining for 2026 (full year) or renewing | |
Senior (age 26 and above) | £27 |
Young Adult (age 21-25) | £16 |
Junior (up to age 20) | £15 |
Families with at least two seniors and one child get discounted membership compared to paying individually. Check the website for details.
Note that the annual junior membership fee has gone up from 2025 to 2026, because it was decided at the LOC 2025 AGM that we would only offer free junior membership for one introductory year, rather than in subsequent years as before. However, being a LOC junior allows you to enter LOC events for free, so this still represents excellent value for money!
Friends of LOC
You may wish to have LOC only membership, without joining British Orienteering. This might be if you are a member of British Orienteering via another club but want to stay in touch with LOC, or are an infrequent orienteer but again want to retain ties to the club. As a “Friend of LOC” for just £5, you cannot enter open events as LOC, but you can:
- Receive LOC group emails
- Attend AGM, club meetings and other club gatherings (like after the club champs),
- Enter closed LOC events (such as club champs and club training)
If this is for you, please contact the Membership Secretary. Details can be found on the Contacts page.
For anyone else we strongly encourage joining both British Orienteering and LOC as described earlier to enjoy the full benefits of being a LOC and British Orienteering member.
QUESTIONS?
If you have any questions about membership, please contact the Membership Secretary. Details can be found on the Contacts page.
MEMBERSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS
By joining LOC, all members agree to abide by the British Orienteering terms and conditions which can be found on the website and comply with British Orienteering and Lakeland Orienteering Club policies.
