Directions / Parking

Sadly we have lost the planned parking in Booths car park - please do not park there.

Please make use of alternative parking in Windermere, either the on street or pay and display parking options. There is a car park at Broad Street at the far end of the High Street which is just a 5 minute walk (w3w - ///feels.modifies.parked)

Registration and download will be in a layby on the main road en-route to Orrest Head near the crossing point at w3w ///waxer.couches.workroom. If you have pre-entered and need to collect a dibber prior to running or just need some advice to get you going, please ensure you find us before you run.

Also it is imperative that whether you finish your course or not, you return to the download car immediately on finishing to download, so we know you have returned safely and don't call out Mountain Rescue to look for you.

Route to start crosses the A591 at uncontrolled island crossing. Care to be taken and all children under

adult supervision.

Map / Terrain

Orrest Head is a beautiful area with nice features. Due to lambing we will be using only the three seperate areas of mixed woodland interlinked by a network of paths and one crossing of a field. There are some steep woods with usual expected slipperiness.

Orrest Head is a popular location, so please be careful and courteous to gerneral public.

There are many walls in the area which MUST NOT be climbed.

Full leg cover is compulsory. If weather is bad you may be required to carry a hooded waterproof jacket. You must carry a whistle.
