What does this mean?

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Thank you for joining us on a lovely evening today up on Holme Fell for the finale in the Spring Series! We hope you enjoyed the courses and also the cakes afterwards. Many thanks to Emily for planning, Derek A & Jerry as Safety Controllers and Chris as Series Co-ordinator and the SI Team of Ali & Mike and Jerry. Overview

The Spring Series reached its grand finale on Wednesday on the superb terrain of Holme Fell with some excellent, challenging courses designed by first-time-planner Emily Turner. Thanks to Heather Heppenstall for the fabulous orienteering cakes and biscuits - I hope you all got one, especially Orange course participants.

Next up: the Summer Series starts next Wednesday 1 June on brand new area, Latter Rigg. Hope to see you there.
