Bethecar - EVENT CANCELLEDSun 24 Nov
Galoppen
Regional level event
What does this mean?
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.
Terrain type: Heathland
Overview
A combination of weather-related situations thanks to storm ‘Bert’ has meant we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow’s event at Bethecar Moor.
The safety of competitors and volunteers, due to the forecasted high winds has been at the forefront of our minds for the past few days.
There still remains a very strong possibility that the Forestry Commission will withdraw permission to use the forestry tracks due to the high winds.
Today’s snow and flooding on the roads up to the event has prevented our planners from accessing the area and putting out the remaining controls.
Further heavy rain is forecasted overnight meaning the very real possibility that the smaller roads to the event are likely to be impassable.
We will notify everyone asap with a revised date.
