What does this mean?

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Pre-event Details

Course Information

Orienteering from 10:30am to 1:00pm (courses close 1pm)

2 x Beginners (1.8km each), 1 x Improvers (2.2km) & 2 x Technical (2.5km each) courses

Try as many as you want

There will be sign-in/sign-out sheets for the courses

There will not be any formal results, to give the SI team a day off!

There will be SI boxes and a simple mini-printer if you want to record a time

Coaching advice available

There will be a short map walk (“show & tell”) at 11am, & another at 12noon, explaining about rock and contour shapes

Entry Details

Cost of day - Adults £5, Juniors Free. Pay on the day.

Lunch 12:30pm to 2pm – tea, coffee & cake provided
