Report

Despite the very wet forecast 15 Primary School teams from the Furness area gathered in the lovely surroundings of Barrow Park for a great day of orienteering. Enthusiasm wasn’t dampened and fortunately the assorted gazebos and tents became superfluous in the afternoon.

Sir John Barrow’s team held off some strong competition, particularly from Holy Family, to retain their title and qualify for Cumbria School Games Festival. Notably SJB and HF showed the benefit once more of experience gained at LOC’s recent schools events. Well done to all and special thanks to the teachers and all the wonderful LOC volunteers who kept everything under control with a smile. DF
