Continuing Coaching - Solo Opportunities in 2020
Some opportunities for Coaching during the COVID-19 Pandemic
Although all registered orienteering events have been cancelled, we can still continue to orienteer but it must be noted that we must follow the Government Rules and Guidelines about isolation and separation.
The courses are set up for solo Orienteers or maybe cohabiting couples/families BUT NOT GROUPS and a sensible distance between you and anyone else must also be observed.
CLEARLY ANYONE WITH ANY OF THE COVID-19 SYMPTOMS OR WHO IS FEELING ILL SHOULD STAY AT HOME IN AN ATTEMPT TO STOP THE SPREAD OF THIS EXTREMELY INFECTIOUS VIRUS.
Most importantly, we need to stress that the decision to use these courses must be yours. We are preparing the courses and uploading the maps, but whether you choose to go out on your own to run a course is totally up to you.
Bethecar Moor - now live
Pike O Blisco - now live
Skelghyll Woods (TBC)
A series of different courses may be available as time goes on. Again the control sites will be marked with tapes, not orienteering kites.
You definitely run these courses totally at your own risk. You will not be insured, because these activities are not registered with BOF. If you injure yourself, because of Covid-19, the MRT may not be able to turn out to rescue you. In short, you will be on your own. I have to say that this afternoon I did feel quite lonely at times
