About us and how to join

About Us

We are one of the largest clubs in the North-West of England, currently with over 300 club members.

The area of the club is from Ulverston in the West, to Kirkby Stephen in the East, and from Shap in the North to Carnforth in the South.

The biggest benefit of being a member is that you will receive your very own copy of 'Locate' - our bi-monthly newsletter which contains articles, results, club fixtures, and any other news worth reporting.

The club holds regular events - details of which can be obtained either via the Events page of this web-site or through printed fixture lists.

We also have monthly meetings - open to ALL club members.

The idea of having open meetings is so that anyone in the club can air their views, rather than having to rely on a committee please  contact the club Chairman for details.

How to Join

The >> Lakeland Orienteering membership page on the British Orienteering  web site  shows the current membership fees.

>> Join on line  or  >> Download a membership form which should be returned to the British Orienteering national office at the  address shown on the form.

If you need any help (for example with which type of membership is best for you)  please contact the >> Membership secretary.
