Terrain
The area is fast open fell with large areas of highly intricate contour &
rock detail. There are a number of small paths across the area, some of which are formed by quad bikes & are prone to changing regularly.
It is a very rocky area & only the most significant rock detail has been mapped, in particular there are a large number of unmapped boulders. There are significant crags in the area, none of which are taped. The one exception is a small crag adjacent to the start which will be taped. Care should be taken when crossing rocky areas.
No intact dry stone walls should be crossed at any point on your course.
The yellow course crosses one stream & follows another stream; care should be taken when crossing these streams. Where features are less distinct tapes will be used to aid competitors. This will be indicated on the control descriptions. Orange course competitors may see some of the tapes used on the yellow course; they should ignore these.
