The Controller visited the area today and the road conditions and parking field have not significantly changed. Per weather forecasts the thaw appears to be arriving on Monday :(. The event will be rescheduled for either later this spring or next year. posted 12.30pm Feb 10th **************EVENT CANCELLED********************************** AT THE MOMENT THE ROAD UP TO THE TOP OF BIGLAND IS NOT FREE OF SNOW AND ICE AND IS ONLY PASSABLE TO 4x4 VEHICLES. *************************************************************** A section of mainly open fell with some sparsely wooded slopes. There are several large enclosures bounded by walls. Cagoules MAY BE compulsory in the event of extreme wet weather. Stock All Gates MUST be kept closed to avoid stock moving between enclosures. Courses Orange to Brown will pass through a large enclosure that contains 4 Tamworth pigs. They are knee high and inquisitive – and will have been fed early! They have made many new paths which are too small to map. The main footpaths through this enclosure have been updated on the map. Another enclosure contains belted Galloway calves. Due to the wet weather the pasture is continually being churned up and new trods created. Only significant small paths are on the map. . |
