Junior Home International 2000

LOC was well represented at this years JHI, with five runners running for three of the home countries (and their teacher (Miss Evans) shouting for the fourth?!)  Vicky Brocklebank and sister Leona, together with Will Spain were running for England, Sarah Browne for Ireland and Louise Ramsden for Scotland.  The individual races were held on Hampsfell, near Grange on the Saturday, and the relays moved to Barrowfield on the Sunday.  The individual races took the form of a multi-loop race, which made for some exciting competition for the spectators, and good close racing for those taking part.

Vicky won the W18 race, only 13 seconds ahead of second place.  Sarah and Louise both had great runs, finishing 3rd and fourth respectively in the W16 class (Leona was 11th), but this course was voided with some of the maps having a wrong control description.  Will finished a very creditable 8th on the M14.

In the relays, both Vicky and Will were in winning teams for England.
